Just as a physician's benefits differ from job to job or employer to employer, the same goes for medical professionals pursuing nurse practitioner, physician's assistant or CRNA positions. Benefits such as health insurance, life insurance, vacation time, sick days and more should all be discussed early in the interview process. If for some reason the employer does not bring these things up, simply ask about them. If you're unhappy with the benefits being offered, ask if they are negotiable. Here you'll find some helpful tips on employment negotiation from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
