A correctional facility in New Jersey has an immediate need for a family practice or internal medicine physician to provide locum tenens coverage due to staff shortage. The assignment is expected to last 3 months or remain ongoing with the possibility of going perm. Hours are 7:30am-4pm, with an average case load of 10-20 patients per 8-hour shift. Common cases include injury, acute illness, physicals, and ambulatory primary medical needs. The locum should expect to perform the following procedures: suturing, joint injections, incision and drainage. Notes are taken via paper charts. Candidates must be FP or IM board certified with BLS, DEA, and NJ license.
