Chief Medical Officer needed in New York near Brooklyn. Seeking a BC/BE physician to work effectively as a thought partner to the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and to provide leadership to the clinical team. For further details please read below and refer to job ID# 49727

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

CMO leads a medical expert team for meeting public health needs on the legislative front. CMO will create and enforce the clinical guidelines that make healthcare delivery run more smoothly and act as liaisons between doctors and healthcare executives to ensure patients receive the highest quality treatment possible by hiring, evaluating, and training new physicians. CMO work to implement cost-effective and efficient medical interventions.

CMO has the primary responsibility of managing the organization's doctors to provide safe, effective medical services to the public. CMO train new physicians on the facility's policies and keep current medical staff up-to-date on changing health regulations. Daily duties could include offering clinical guidance to physicians, innovating policy changes, ensuring compliance, manage QI and RM efforts, evaluating quality of services, developing a budget, assisting in resident funding, and coordinating community relationships. CMO will frequently attend board meetings to speak with chairmen, health administrators, and department heads about the facility's performance.

Job details:

  • Graduate of an approved Medical School
  • License to practice medicine in New York State
  • Board Eligible or certified in the practicing specialty
  • Working knowledge of the eClinicalWorks system preferred
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in a health care setting is required
  • Effective leadership skills to guide an entire healthcare team and implement valid action plans
  • Strong business acumen to organize financial, human resources, legal, and political aspects of healthcare is essential
  • Must have technical skills to review and oversee electronic health records
  • Excellent clinical judgment and goal-oriented visioning for quality assurance
