Who says you can’t be beautiful and smart? You can’t tell me Barbie is the only babe that wanted to make it through medical school. But, it’s still rather hard to believe that some of the world’s most famously recognized fashion models once had more academically charged aspirations. In fact, some of the biggest names in the modeling game once dreamed of practicing medicine.
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, just because some gorgeous models wanted to be physicians, doesn’t mean they actually would (or could) do it. However, you never know where these iconic names would have been if they hadn’t become the public figures we all know and love them as.
In 2006, GQ asked the beautiful model known for her Victoria’s Secret angel status if she had always planned on being a supermodel. “When I started, I was too young to know what I wanted. But today I would like to be a doctor. I want to be a pediatry…how do you call it, pediatrician?” she told the magazine. Maybe that’s why nearly a decade later she’s a mother of two.
These days everyone is absolutely OBSESSED with Cara Delevingne’s signature fierce set of brows. However, she’s probably more interested in checking out other model’s teeth. After all, this silly model/actress told Russh magazine, “”I also had this weird passion for dentistry and loved looking inside my mouth. Weird,” she said. Can you imagine looking up to this face during a routine filling?
Before heading down the catwalk in 2012’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Smalls told the Huffington Post that she would definitely be working as a psychologist if she wasn’t modeling. That might be true considering the gorgeous VS angel has a degree in psychology from the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico.
Kloss’ father is an emergency room doctor so the 23-year old has talked about the idea of studying medicine at Harvard. “I have always had an interest in medicine,” she told Daily Front Row Berlin. The 2013-2015 Victoria’s Secret Angel also considered working on her entrepreneurial skills in college.
At age 13, Ellington, another Victoria’s Secret Angel told Vogue UK she really wanted to be a doctor after recovering spinal fusion surgery. I really was a math and science nerd and planned to be a doctor, so I started a course in Biology at the University of California. But then I was scouted and Viva sent me to Paris.”
